“Bridges International is a caring community of Christ-followers committed to Serve, promote Social Connections, and engage in Spiritual Conversations with international Students, so that Students Become Leaders Internationally.”

Serve: We first connect with international students through serving them, meeting their practical needs like driving them to the store or helping them find furniture.

Social Connections: “80% of international students will never step foot in an American’s home!” Most international students are from communal cultures and have a strong need to belong to a group, but in America’s individualistic culture, they are often not welcomed. Many are isolated and lonely. We put on social events for international students, such as parties celebrating holidays in the United States and in students’ home countries. These events foster relationship-building with same-country and American Christians, where students can feel known, gain a sense of belonging, and experience the love of Christ!

Spiritual Conversations: “65% of international students are from the 10/40 window, which includes some of the most unreached countries in the world!” Many international students are spiritually curious, as they have been told that America is a Christian nation. They want to learn about this, and for many of them they are hearing the Gospel for the first time. Many of them have never experienced unconditional love and are attracted by the love and community a relationship with Jesus Christ offers!

Students Becoming Leaders Internationally: 
As international students come to Christ and become disciples, they have the opportunity to reach those from their countries with the Gospel and make disciples. They also can become spiritually influential among the international student community in the United States. Many will also return to their home countries and share and live out the love of Christ among their families and co-workers, So, in reaching international students for Christ, we are literally reaching the nations!
