November 2025
- Jihad means Muslim holy war, and that is the biggest problem in Burkina Faso. It also means terrorism toward education, Christians, and even other Muslims. They kill, level villages, rape, etc. The result is that those who escape try to move to safer regions of Burkina Faso. The big problem is that safer regions are becoming less and less.
- We have pastors working in some of the most unsafe areas: Solenzo, Nouna, Djibasso, and Dedougou (nine pastors and three schools). Pray for their protection and continuing ministry. Moussa’s goal is to see the whole country receive the Gospel.
- People in the small villages feel like they are in prison, because it’s so dangerous to go out of the village, and many farmers live in villages that are not close to their farms. When they can’t get to their farms, famine happens.
- We need enough financial resources to cover the school year. Last year was difficult.
- Judy is in the midst of creating folders for new sponsored children. It’s a very consuming job, but I love it. I also have a new computer and new printer and need help making them do the things I need them to do.
December 2025
- Pray for the end of the year activities, Christmas and New Year, that these would be times of worship, meditation, and reflection.
- Pray for the pastors’ 2nd annual meeting (Dec. 29-30).
- Pray for funds for land and construction of the Nyeneta School. The fund is now up to $27,000. We need $50,000 more to purchase the property.
- Pray for funds for additional classrooms for the secondary school in city of Bobo-Dioulasso. Bobo is the second largest city in Burkina Faso.
- Pray for security fences around the secondary school in the city of Solenzo. The school in Solenzo is in a dangerous neighborhood.
- Pray for funds for more classrooms for the schools in the city of Dedougou.
- Pray for funds for the running of the schools from August 2025 to July 2026. We usually receive only enough to cover two-thirds of our budget. The months of March through July are difficult.
- Pray that Christians forced to flee their homes will find fellowship with other believers while they are displaced.
- Pray for the children in our schools. Many are very anxious due to the unsafe conditions in their country. Pray that they will learn to find refuge in Jesus.

January 2026
- Due to the Islamists, the northwest area of the country is very unsafe. One church had to be closed due to attacks by the Jihadis. Some of the believers fled to another one of our churches. Pray that the Lord will remove the Jihadis from Burkina Faso. Nothing is too hard for God!
- Pray for the schools, that they will continue to be a very effective way to reach young people for the Lord Jesus Christ. Pray for the students, their parents, the teachers, and the administration. About 75 percent of our students come from Muslim families, and some from idolatry, etc. Our child sponsorship program leads most of them to Jesus, but only about 5 percent of our students are in the sponsorship program. Please pray for more.
- Pray for Bethesda, the two homes for widows and orphans. Some young people are finishing high school and college. They are looking for jobs, even temporary jobs.
- Mathieu Nana finished Bible college in Ghana (next-door country), and we had hoped he could receive a Billy Graham scholarship for Wheaton College to get a master’s degree and meet our supporters in order to take Moussa’s place. Unfortunately, the United States is now barring people from Burkina Faso to come to the United States. Moussa is 70 years old and we are thinking ahead.
- Judy is 84 years old and needs someone to replace me as president of the Board of West African Christian Ministries. So far, we have been unsuccessful in finding someone.

February 2026
- Pray for the northwest convention of church pastors. Over 25 years Dr. Moussa Coulibaly and his team have planted 20 churches in Burkina Faso. Many are in very dangerous areas, but the pastors of regional churches gather in regional groups. February 26 to March 2, the pastors of the churches in the Northwest area gather for a spiritual convention to pray and to plan. This is the area that is largely controlled by Jihadis.
- Pray for the believers in Diekan in the northwest area. They fled from their village because of attacks by the Jihadis since July. They don’t know yet when they will be able to return. Diekan is 30-some miles from the Mali border. The worst terrorism is at the intersection of Burkina Faso, Mali, and Niger.
- Pray for the west and southwest area pastors who will convene March 5 to 9.
- Pray for those in the Bethesda Home for widows and orphans. Many of the widows are HIV positive. The widows are doing small jobs, such as selling small packets of salt ( five widows). Having work to do helps them learn good work habits and self-esteem. Pray for the boys and girls in high school and in college. Some are looking for jobs, which is very difficult in Burkina Faso. Pray for the children in elementary school, plus a couple of toddlers.
- Pray for the students in all schools (eight elementary schools, five secondary schools). Pray for the teachers and the administration. Pray that they will insert the Gospel as they teach, and pray that they will do a good job preparing the students for their exams in June and July, especially for the national exams at the end of sixth grade, tenth grade, and thirteenth grade.
