Dear brothers, sisters, pastors, and co-workers in the Lord,

Blessings to you in the Chinese New Year. May we all grow to a higher level spiritually in the Year of the Horse!

February in the UK is still chilly, yet the branches of many plants have begun to bud. The earliest to bloom are the daffodils; they are already blossoming in vibrant beauty. One of our ministries, too, has begun to “bud.”

Below are our prayer items for these two months. Thank you for upholding us with your prayers.

1. We thank the Lord that in Gosport, about half an hour’s drive from Portsmouth, a newly established Bible study group reaching out to immigrants from Fujian, China, has held its first meeting. Everyone was deeply moved as they witnessed how God has answered prayers made several years ago. What the two core families had long hoped for has now come to pass. They are now actively inviting others, including second-generation Christians from Fujian. We have all witnessed this truth: When hearts are prepared and the time has come, God begins His work.

Please continue to pray for this Bible study group. We have a longing in our hearts—that brothers and sisters from Fujian will be raised up by God, so that in the future they may serve as co-workers and minister to their own people.

2. The Monday Bible study group that began last year has been growing, with more and more brothers and sisters joining who cannot come to Sunday services. They have even brought several seekers. We see the work of the Holy Spirit— where there is a hunger for God, He faithfully provides. There are now more than ten regular attendees, and two brothers and sisters are already able to lead the Bible study. Please continue to pray for the growth of the co-workers and development in this group.

3. At the beginning of May this year, a short-term mission team from the United States will assist us in evangelistic outreach and in furthering the development of the Mandarin ministry. Please pray for our current fellowship co-workers, among whom are three families whose husbands have not yet come to faith. Also pray for the many seekers and brothers and sisters who have been invited and who have previously attended the fellowship. May the Lord prepare their hearts with faith and a longing for the salvation and abundant life found in Christ Jesus.

4. Two years ago, our co-workers prayed for the Mandarin fellowship to have a Mandarin Sunday worship service. Due to the church’s current shortage of manpower and resources, the newly arrived pastor has tried simultaneous interpretation during several sermons. His hope is that, in the future, Cantonese- and Mandarin-speaking brothers and sisters will worship together, with full-service interpretation. Please earnestly pray for this matter.

5. Please continue to pray that more students and young adults will register for SEEC and for the Mandarin Easter student camp.

6. Please pray for Gabby’s healing from her hiatal hernia, and that through this experience the Lord may shape her humility and obedience.
