From a young age, I always attended church. Although I didn’t know exactly what it meant at that time, I knew that church was a good thing and that I should go there often. 

            As I grew older, I started seeing the reason for church. I realized that the many parables that Jesus tells his disciples apply not just to the people in Jesus’s time; they still apply today, even though it has been thousands of years. I noticed many of the values shared in the Bible are traits that all kinds of schools and programs love. For example, it could match our school’s core values — Integrity, Service, and Excellence — or the Scout Law from Boy Scouts. 

As I started praying more, I realized how much it helps me focus. I can concentrate longer on my schoolwork. I also found out that while many people around me were stressed out over tests, I was able to stay calm by talking to God. 

After coming to Christ, I want to continue to follow God’s word and practice the many Christian values shared from the Bible. I want to continue to come to church and pray to God and make a commitment to Christ.
